Dr. SEENA SAHADEVAN
I am an investigator at MARE-Marine and Environmental Sciences Centre, Department of Life Sciences, University of Coimbra, Portugal. My scientific activity revolves around the evaluation of the impacts of anthropogenic pollution and environmental changes on the aquatic biodiversity and ecosystem functioning. Assessing the risks associated with emerging contaminants at various levels of biological organization (from communities to cells). Development and application of molecular tools to assess biodiversity. Understanding the impact of intraspecies diversity on the ecosystem functioning on freshwaters. My research output has significant implications on biodiversity, phylogenetics of aquatic fungi and risks of new emerging pollutants on freshwater ecosystem functioning.
